🧬The loneliness caused by Covid-19🧬🩺💊
Covid-19
when covid - 19 first came into Sri Lanka, many things were happening at one. my A/L exams were coming up, my brother was moving abroad, my father had a sudden accident, and his company was busy with many construction projects. 😥😥
my father had a taken on several projects, but my brother had to leave for his studies just as the work was starting. even though my father's legs were injured from his accident, he still went to see the construction work. one day, he finished a project early in the morning and came home feeling sick😷.at first, we though he was just tired.
omg!!!! 😫
we soon found out that my father's driver had tested positive for covid-19, then my mother and I also got infected. but, since my grandfather and our helper aunty were healthy, so, we had to leave the house to protect them.
my mother's condition became serious, so, she needed urgent medical care.it was a very difficult time because the hospitals were full, and there was no room for the tree of us to stay together. 😌
finally, a relative helped us, they arranged the room at the Hikka Tranze hotel in Galle, which was working with Asiri Hospitals to treat patients. we stayed in a room overlooking the Hikkaduwa Beach🌊
the most painful thing about covid-19 was how everyone having so many problems. I was lost my A/L exams, my father's leg was in bed state after an accident and his projects were struck, my mother's illness, my brother was in another country, my grandfather and helper aunt were so week they couldn't even cooked.
oooooh!!!! even today, I can only look back at those memories with a heavy sigh.
SO NEAR, YET SO FAR..........😷🌊
do you know what it's like to see the beach but not be able to touch the waves?
for days, I just watched the ocean from a distance. I love drawing mandala's but, there I was, trapped in a hotel, staring at the sea, feeling completely alone.
in those last days, my only comfort was my cousin who worked at the Galle police. He secretly brought me spicy foods, murukku, chocolate drinks, books and colored pens. finally drawing Mandela but😒
being stuck by a sea I couldn't enjoy was hard, but the feeling of watching thousands of people being taken by death was truly fatal. a virus like that should never come back again.
🦠😷😷🌊😥

You endured it very well🙌🏻
