PICNICS

 School friends still keeping their bond💕

For me, a picnic isn't just an outing, it's a necessary escape from the pressure of daily life. it usually starts the same way, we have just survived a wave of university assignments and exams, and we are all thinking about heading home. suddenly, a message pops up in the group chat, " shall we go somewhere?" that's all it takes. we crave those moments to just talk, snap a few photos, grab a bite, and lose ourselves in some music.

we are group of five, but as life gets complicated, someone always seems to be missing. usually, it's our friend stationed in Anuradhapura for army nursing. I realized recently that I have not seen her in person since 2020. however, she gets her hands on her phone, we all drop what we are doing to catch up. even if we don't have time for a full trip, we make it a point to at least visit the or find a spot with great food just to stay connected.

   our adventures have taken us to some beautiful places PERADENIYA, KANDY, DEDUGALA, SEETHAWAKA, PINNAWALA, HANTHANA, AMBULUWAWA, SEMBUWATTA. Every trip reminds me of how distinct friends are,  

the historian😏from Rajarata university (the one who constantly brings up old memories),  

the photographer😎📸from the university of UVPA (always capturing moments to tease us later), t 

he troubles magnet 😂from Sabaragamuwa university (the friend who somehow always finds a way to get into a mess), 

the slow learner🙄 from ocean university (the one who takes a solid minute to "get" the joke🥴), 

the protector 🥰Moratuwa university (the one looking out for everyone else).  

Despites our differences, we share one superpower, clearing out a spread of food I record time! 😋😅 we have a ritual. before the fun begins, we call home to let our families know we have arrived safely and send a quick photo. after that, phones go away. they are either turned off, silenced, or put on flight mood for at least an hour.

This is when the real magic happens. we eat, laugh, and gossip about university life sharing the good and the bad about new people we have met. of course, one person usually ends up being the target of our jokes, mostly cause their life seems to be a never-ending series! 😬

If I'm honest, we might not be "best friends" in the traditional sense, but there is a deep bond of trust 💝. we can keep each other's secrets, talk for hours, and eat together without a single person judging the other. 

in the end, a picnic is so much more than a pretty picture sitting in a phone gallery. it's about that feeling of freedom and the comfort of being yourself. I truly hope we never lose this.

> MANALI WINTER ❄🏔

  A MOMENT IN THE SNOW ⛄ ❄   ☃ A few years ago, in January, I visited the town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, India, located near the snow-capped 🗻Himalayan mountain range.      It was beautiful city surrounded by snow-covered mountain ranges and seen the snow falling even as I arrived was the most beautiful moment, I saw in my own eyes❆.  because it was my first time experiencing snow, the feeling was more magical🌟 than cold  👉 when we first visited the  Hadi Mba  Devi Temple , the heavy snowfall ❆ made the afternoon look dim and misty. because it was snowing too hard to even take photos, we finished our prayers and headed back to our resort. Bio science research crew

  Report: - ABSOPTON OF THE HEAVY METAL LEAD(Pb) by INTRODUCED AND NATIVE WEED PLANTS. Although I eventually chose to pursue Arts, Science was always the subject I loved most. I had enough talent and experience to follow the Bio Science stream, but I quickly realized that Science requires total focus. If you don't give it your full attention, it easily slips away. ​Trying to keep my mind on Art while practicing Science was a challenge that slowed down my academic path. This memory comes from a time when I was part of a high-achieving group of students in a research project organized by the National Science Foundation at the University of Peradeniya. ​The project focused on "The absorption of the heavy metal Lead (Pb) using invasive and native weed plants." However, towards the end of the project, I handed over the remaining work to my teammates because I had to travel abroad for an Arts competition.
