APRIL "my month"

                  I see April as my month, primarily because it is my birth month.Even though it happens at the end of the month, the feeling right at the start is truly beautiful. It wouldn’t be wrong to describe it as a whole season in itself a time when the environment, cities, and villages all flourish with prosperity.

 The Sinhala and Hindu new year season are a perfect example of this. To me, it is a time that feels complete in every sense, not just limited to one thing. 

Regardless of the current economic or social climate, we all witness a unique sense of preparation and readiness in everyone during this month.

2025 memo ☝️

                During the early part of the month, I spend my time joining my father for the various festival invitations he receives and helping with the preparations for the New Year days.

​​Despite all the festivities, what I love most is that this is my birth month. Whether I expect it or not, the loveliest tradition I’ve experienced throughout my life is my birthday cake. 

Since my very first birthday, my family has never missed this special "secret." They always have a unique theme for every single moment.

​The love they show is the most special thing I see in this month. As the day approaches, I notice their secret conversations and the way my siblings organize things even though I know something is happening, I pretend not to! It is truly a lovely and beautiful month.
